Healing is neuroplastic.

Healing is neuroplastic.

Your brain and body learned to survive overwhelming events. With the right therapy, they can also learn to feel safe, connected, and present again.

TYPES OF TRAUMA & DISSOCIATION

TRAUMA

A single traumatic event is a sudden shock to your body, mind, and spirit. Car accidents, natural disasters, or a medical crisis can flood your nervous systems with fear and helplessness. Afterwards intrusive memories, startle responses, and restless sleep keep the event alive. Therapy helps file the experience safely in the past so life can move again.

COMPLEX TRAUMA

Complex trauma isn’t one storm. It’s years of bad weather. Growing up around violence, addiction, or chronic criticism trains the brain to stay on high alert. Even when the danger ends, your body can’t find the off-switch, producing anxiety and emotional whiplash. Step-by-step therapy will rewire those survival patterns into steadier, safer responses.

ATTACHMENT TRAUMA

When early caregivers are absent, frightening, or emotionally unpredictable, attachment wounds form before we have words. The child adapts through shame, perfectionism, or desperate people-pleasing, habits that echo into adulthood. Because these injuries live beneath language, we use body-based therapies to reach them. Relearning self-worth from the inside out is painstaking – and life-changing.

RELATIONAL TRAUMA

Relational trauma happens later in life when trust is broken by partners, friends, or communities. Gaslighting, discrimination, or abandonment can make connection feel dangerous and isolation feel safest. Symptoms often lift faster than early attachment wounds, yet they still require careful repair. Therapy restores healthy boundaries and teaches the nervous system how to risk closeness without losing self.

DISSOCIATION

Dissociation is the brain’s built-in eject button: zoning out, going numb, or watching life like a movie when stress peaks. It protected you during overwhelming moments but becomes unsettling when it switches on at random. We teach grounding skills while gently processing the memories that keep your system on standby. Over time, attention, presence, and choice return.

Where Your Story Turns Forward

Shoulders drop when the phone rings. Sleep comes without replaying the worst case scenarios. Boundaries feel calm instead of brittle. That’s the nervous system moving from survival to safe. Our job is to teach your brain it has choices again – one small, repeatable win at a time. When that shift clicks, life stops being about managing symptoms and starts being about living.
